The room behind the screen
AfterStages is a focused resource on video post-production — the edit, the mix, the grade, the finish.
What This Site Covers
AfterStages maps the part of filmmaking the audience never sees: everything that happens after the shoot. The post-production pipeline, the editing software that cuts it, the sound and color work that finishes it, and the festival run that gets it seen. It is part of the WholeTech Network — a collection of 110+ websites, each focused on a single subject and built to be a genuinely useful reference.
Our Approach
Every page here is built to be useful, honest, and free of clutter. No pop-ups. No paywalls. No auto-playing video. Just clear information, presented well. We believe the web should be helpful, not annoying — especially for people learning a craft.
How We Curate
The video reel prioritizes recent, substantive post-production walkthroughs and then ranks by reach, embedded under YouTube’s terms so all engagement flows to the original creators. The sources list points only to independent, working references — the tools and publications professionals actually use.
The WholeTech Network
This site is one of 110+ in the network, all running on a single server. See the full list at wholetech.com or browse the master sitemap. The network has been built and maintained from Austin, Texas since 1996.
